Re: Poll: Hair salons

  • I go to Kasee at Jon Alan Salon in Cool Springs. She's great. I've also heard good things about the other stylist there and at the other Jon Alan locations. Prices for a hair cut range from $35-50, depending on the level of stylist that you prefer.
  • I go to Jocinda at Studio 17 in Columbia.  Probably too much of a drive for most of you, but just a few minutes for me.  She's great and only $30 for a cut.  Appointments can take up to a month to get though.

  • I used to go to the Jon Alan salon at Nippers Corner.  She was ok, but nothing great.  She was never able to make my hair look as good as the first time she colored it - after that the color was always off.
  • I go to Casey at Studio Gaven in Cool Springs.  Love her, love the salon.  Great stuff! It's not what I'd call cheap, but it's not overpriced either.  I used to go to Shawn Venezia off West End and he was great, but his prices jumped by the hundreds of dollars.  :(
  • I go to Jaime at Studio One Twenty in Franklin (next to Bed Bath and Beyond). I have used her for 3-4 years and I love her!!

  • I see Bria at Jon Alan salon in Bellevue. ?She's a level 3 (I think) stylist, so her cuts are more expensive than other girls, but I really like her. ?The Jon Alan salons are all Aveda salons, if you're a first time customer your cut is 50% off. ?They're always really nice whenever I go.

PS. if you do decide to go to a Jon Alan salon, it'd be great if you mentioned the name(s) of the people that recommended you (like maybe me!), because they send us a 10% off coupon!

  • I go to Shawn at Salon Venezia and will never go anywhere else (even though I live in Atlanta now!). He is not cheap by any definition, but I have to say that the highlights he does in my hair look so natural and he cuts my hair so well, I go at least 3 months between appointments and usually end up going 4. It works out to be much less expensive than the traditional 4-6 weeks.

  • I go to Katie at the Pink Mullet in Franklin. It is hard to find someone who can cut my hair right since my hair is very thick, coarse, & curly. Their prices are very reasonable. I pay less than $60 for a cut & shampoo.
