Any furniture store recommendations?
Re: Furniture stores
I have had nothing but great experiences with Raymour and Flanigan. There's a big showroom at 14th Street near Union Square. I highly recommend them. I personally would never shop at The Door Store again. I had the most horrendous experience with them when I ordered by wall unit.
Long story short:
I ordered a 4 pc unit (hutch, credenza and two book cases w/ doors) and when they delivered, they forgot one of the wall units, a month later when the unit finally came, the door was too long. A month after that they send the right size door in the wrong color, then after demanding they expedite my order the door in the right size and color came 2 weeks later but it was damaged. three weeks later I finally got the correct door in good condition and it only took 3.5 months. And for all my troubles all I got in return was a sincere apology, my $100 shipping fee refunded and $150 refund (on a $2,300 unit). And the quality was no better than IKEA -not to say that IKEA isn't a good store, it's just that for the price I payed I would have expected higher quality. IKEA's prices are in line with their quality.
