Desperate.."morning" sickness is killing me...

I am nauseous practically 24/7. I throw up at least once a day. Give me your best morning sickness remedies...I am desperate for some relief.  I cannot function...I am starting to miss work/leave early because it's so bad...I need to find a way to function through this...

Help!!!

Re: Desperate.."morning" sickness is killing me...

  • I've never had this problem- but I've heard ginger candy really helps take the edge off.

A friend of mine also drank a LOT of ICEEs / Slurpees from 7-11... killed her morning sickness!

Don't worry about tomorrow. After all, today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. Take each day as it comes...one at a time. Midnight Baking Adventures Blog
  • I got some relief for awhile with preggie pop drops candies but now even those aren't working.

It has been my worst day by far. I'm sure the JC Penny at the Santa Anita mall never wants to see me again after the incident in the fitting room Embarrassed

Edited to remove the number of times I threw up today. I'm sure nobody needed to know that Stick out tongue

  • Not nutritious at all, but friends have told me that Lemon Heads and sour candy (Sour Patch Kids, etc) have helped alleviate the vomiting.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  • This won't help you at work, but the only thing that made me bear it was taking a nap.
  • My pg friends eats Now and Laters all day, and she's says that helped her the most.  I hope it gets better!

  • I never threw up but I felt like it every morning. P would bring me crackers but honestly taking a shower helped me feel better. good luck!
  • Didn't someone post about carrying plastic bags w/them? I thought it was here. A good idea just in case you feel sick in the store again. Carry a few grocery bags w/you. Make sure there's no holes :p
  • when it starts making you miss work and you can't even make it to a bathroom, than you need to call your dr and get the prescription medication for it.
  • Oh, gosh! I am so sorry, Rebecca! I can rotally relate.  You are afterall talking to a person who went through m/s for 18 weeks! Yup- 4 months of misery.  I tried everything, and some work temporarily, and then others just made my m/s worse.  I tired ginger ale (the real kind) from Ralph's and that worked for a litttle while.  I even tried pepperoncinis! Imagine me eating them as I was driving on my way to work at 6:30 in the morning (yes, it was my breakfast), and then having them again for recess and lunch.  That worked for like a week.  Tried soda crakers... sprite... 7/up.... bread... sour candies... salty and sour foods helped a little, too, and for a while I was only ale to hold down Top Ramen and Cup o Noodles.  I guess b/c of the salt content.  Hope you find something that helps.  Hugs!Right Hug
  • You kinda have to just try different thigs and see if they work...sour condies worked for a little bit for me....But I was so bad throwing up several times a day i had to get a pescription from the doc.  It was the ONLY thing that really helped.  Esp. since it was affecting me working....running to the bathroom and having to go home.  For me the medicine helped the vomiting go away and for the most part the nausea, but still i would feel nauseas sometimes after taking the meds.  But it was 100% improvement from the previous!  Hopefully the sickness is over soon....I was like jewel and was sick until about 18 weeks!  Good luck, i know it SUCKS!!!

  • I never threw up but wished I did because I felt so bad with the horrible nausea.  I carried a plastic bag with me and kept one in the car...just in case!  The ONLY thing that helped me feel better was ice cold crunchy pickles.  The only foods I ate for the first trimester were plums, nectarines and cereal with ice cold milk.  No wonder I was anemic during my pregnancy!

But...I woke up one day, right around the beginning of my 2nd tri and it was gone...completely disappeared!  There is hope!  Only a few more weeks!!

Zofran is the name of the medication (I believe) that you can get a prescription from your doctor to help you out.

  • Today I have gotten relief with Cinnamon Toast crunch and salty sunflower seeds.
  • I'm late here, SO SORRY!!!!

I threw up for my ENTIRE first trimester, YUCK!

Go to the OB and get some Zofran, now.

I tried the sea bands, crackers, cherry coke, sour patch kids, preggie pops... they would help a little.

The cherry soda was the best at helping, just sipping it. Eat teeny meals all day, and lay down.

I would avoid car rides with people that would make you sick normally... gets worse, and sometimes smelly places (the meat counter at Staters did it to me once)

I would also say, eat ONLY what sounds good. Don't let someone give you food to eat that you don't want... comes back up.

    GL!!!!!
