anniversary mini-trip

DH and I want to celebrate our August anniversary by going to a bed and breakfast and having a little get away before the school year picks up again. I'm a newer STL resident, so I don't know the best places.  I'm currently looking in Washington, but does anyone have any other recommendations?

We went to a B&B in St Genevieve.  I think it was called Dr Brown's house maybe?  There are a bunch in St Gen.  I'd go to any of the wine country areas: St Gen, Augusta, Herman.  All of them have B&B's and great wineries.

If you want to splurge a little, I highly recommend Hermann Hill in Hermann.

i second "hermann hill" and highly, highly recommend the cottages - they overlook the bluff, at kind of secluded from the main house, and they are gorgeous! not your typical b&b?experience, but still wonderful.

I fourth Hermann Hill.  But make sure you stay in the cottages and not the inn, for more privacy.  Try to get a top level cottage room, they have the better view and higher ceilings with skylights.  I loved waking up to the sunlight every morning last summer.  Room 501 is the best!
