Morning ladies.
It's a cold rainy Monday here in Boston. Seems like half of my office has the day off today. It's super quiet. I'm sitting here in a tshirt with a cardigan over it, drinking hot tea - definitely not feeling like summer is here.
Who else is at work and on the boards today? What's on your mind? How was your weekend?

Re: Monday Musings
I'm at work. Leaving for class in a min. I'm obsessing over the ongoing swelling in my foot. I hate this. Its been a year since I broke it, why do I keep spraining it!! ughhhh
Weekend was OK, tons of yardwork.
And I'm hungry...

i'm here. it's definitely not cold, though. i had to turn on the ac in my office as soon as i walked in--although really it's not so much the heat as the humidity. ugh. we're supposed to get thunderstorms later, so hopefully that will bring some relief.
i had a good weekend. the state special olympics was this weekend, and c's godson (he has md) was competing in bowling. we spent saturday going out to brunch with them, and then at the lanes watching him compete and hanging out with the family since we don't get to see them as often as we'd like. he came in 1st in his games. woo hoo!
i spent some time working on stuff for the bathroom, but we still manged to get in some fun. this will be a busy week at work and i have my big finale cake this week, but i'm definitely looking forward to the long weekend!
Well I am in the gloom and rain that is Boston these days. I am laying pretty low trying to get my hip to stop hurting. As long as I don't move I am in no pain. So I try not to move. I made a banana bread this morning (yum) and my wife is making me some coffee. I am excited about this week. We have dinner plans with friends, the hospital tour, we are going up to the lake for the weekend and visiting S's grandparents for the fourth. Also I think we have a buyer for S's motorcycle which will make us a nice chunk of change (even though it is sad to see S have to sell it) Our weekend was good. We went to see Away We Go which was really good. Not much else of excitment our neck of the woods.
I really need some sun though!
I'm glad to see other folks are around. I'm procrasting. I need to write a recommendation letter for an employee I don't particularly love and can't seem to motivate myself to get started. I find it easiest to write recs for people who are fantastic and quickest to write them for people who were completely awful. This person is neither. Sigh.
We did absolutely nothing this weekend, and it was great. We've been traveling so much, it was wonderful to stay home and watch Buffy and Doctor Who DVDs. VIva la geeky couple.
I'm in MN at my parents house. Its been so fun watching them with Annie. Tomorrow we are leaving for Michigan for one night, then we are off to Toronto for 2 days, then back home. I don't want to leave my parents place, but I know once we leave I am not going to want to finish the rest of the trip and I am just going to want to be home.
Hope everyone has a good week.

Just got to work. I had to take the kids for their 3 year old physical this morning. My parents are in town and so the kids have been going to bed late and apparently are exhausted. They almost always wake between 6:30-7 so I never set an alarm. This morning I rolled over and it was 7:45 - we had to be out of the house by 8:15. Miraculously, I got myself ready for work and got the 2 of them dressed and out the door on time (L had an early morning meeting and was already at work.) They got a clean bill of health. Yay!
The weather here has been beautiful this weekend. Perfect for lots of outside playtime.
I'm here! (Although about to pop out for lunch...)
It's nice and mild in Philly today too, which I'm really enjoying... espeically since M/S appears to have officially arrived! I was nauseous all morning and the chicken salad which I couldn't get enough of yesterday and was going to eat for breakfast today, just the thought of it almost made me puke! Then the smell of the breakfast cart I passed on the way into work made my stomach lurch, and I literally had to slap one hand over my mouth and hold my stomach due to the smell of coffee in Starbucks! Yipes.
Our weekend was great though, very relaxing.
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD

well...tomorrow is my last day on this project. Thankfully we have budgeted well so I can afford to look around for my next project without freaking about pay. They did a code review of my work today and it went really well. I had created some extra documentation for the testers and showed them and they were really pleased. Ironically, I created the "how to" doc to keep the testers from bugging me to death with inane questions, but it came off as I was a dedicated, helpful person. Funny.
We have some friends that are in a bad spot financially and while they were able to finally find a place to rent, they have almost NO furniture. So the extra furniture we used in the apartment while I was down here working, I am giving to them. It's a whole living room set, a microwave, toaster, electric skillet, entertainment center and a spare DVD player I have. Now I won't have to store all this stuff AND they really need it. We can still put together a basic setup of furniture if I need to get an apartment again for another long term project out of town.
So while I wish I was home helping Sandy clean out the apartment for the move out inspection, it is an OK monday here.
Oh and it's hotter than...well...it's hot. haha!
I wish I had some of the East Coast gloom here. It's hot and I don't do summer very well.
LMC has a behavioral health evaluation today. I am anxious to see how she does. I worry about her all the time.
We had a nice weekend, it was too hot to do a lot but we still had fun. We spent two hours alone yesterday and it was really nice. While we were out we found a dog running across a busy street. We pulled across all the lanes and got her into the car. She had tags so we got her back to her owner pretty quickly. She was beautiful and I am so glad nothing happened to her. Poor puppy.
I'm at work... Got in late this morning after having to take DD to the audiologist.
She definitely has a hearing loss in both ears, left more than the right, due to her ear drums not vibrating. The doctor is a bit concerned because DD could hear some lower (softer) pitches but not some of the higher (louder) pitches, should be the other way around. I didn't even think how I would take watching the doctors face through the sound booth window, it was hard to see the look of concern. We have another appointment tomorrow afternoon with the ENT specialist to pin point the cause and solution for the problem.
The audiology doctor said it could be fluid build up behind the drums from past ear infections and if that's the case, there is a solution. Outlook is good but there are still other possibilities.
