Where to watch Greenville Fireworks?

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to watch the fireworks in downtown Greenville?

Re: Where to watch Greenville Fireworks?

  • I was wondering the same thing! Do you think Falls Park would be too busy? Where do they shoot them off? This is my 1st fourth here, so I have no clue, but any help would be great. :-)
  • Unfortunately I think my spot has caught on...I used to go to the top of one of the parking garages.  Richardson Street used to be the best.  However, I'm not sure anymore.  I know the idea has caught on and the last time I was up there it was packed.
  • Are the Greenville fireworks actually on July 4th? Spartanburgs were last weekend -- LAME!
  • This is what I found:

AT&T Red, White & Blue Celebration

This Fourth of July celebration is held in downtown Greenville, South Carolinaimage on Saturday, July 4, 2009 beginning at 5:00 p.m. The event is held on Main Street between Broad and Camperdown Streets and is open to the public free of charge. Event tickets may be purchased for $1 per ticket to be used for food, beverages and children's rides. If you are purchasing alcohol, you must have a valid picture ID to obtain a wristband that will allow you to purchase alcoholic beverages. Coolers, pets, bicyclesimage and skateboards are not allowed within the event area. Parking is available in and around downtown at several parking garages and other parking facilities.

In addition to a children's area with rides and attractions, there will be several entertainment venues within the event area. You can view the exact times and locations at their website but the groups listed to perform include Southern Crescent, Mac Arnold & Plate Full O'Blues and the Armed Forces Jazz Guardians. The Second Annual "MoonPie Eatin' Contest" will be held at 7:00 p.m. this year with three age groups competition for the coveted title.

Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. and will be visible from downtown Greenville and the surrounding areas. This event is perfect for the entire family so bring everyone and celebrate Independence Day with food, fun & fireworks in Downtown Greenville.
