It is taking EVERY ounce of energy i have right now to not get in to a war of emails/words with our 'main' receptionist!! She's in the main location and i'm only 2 blocks away in another very important location/office. Me and *another* receptionist in a different but very important location/office were *told* back in Dec that we now answer the main lines as 'backup' for main reception. Uh...not cool, but okay. I truly answer the phone when i can...and other times i just completely ignore it. The main receptionist has taken to emailing and calling me and the other receptionist to harass us about answering her phones correctly/on time/etc. What i love is when she calls me asking if i'm at the office cuz her phones have been ringing. Uh...i *answered* your call and said 'this is Meghan', so what part of that would make you think i wasn't in the office today? I was either in the restroom, or taking care of visitors at my office, or handling something else and couldn't get to your g-d damn phone after 2 rings! I'M SORRY!! I also love that she's trying to act like our bosses and thinks we're just sitting here twiddling our thumbs just waiting for her phone to ring. Cuz i'm not. I have plenty of work to do. In fact, if i'm *her* backup for the phones, is she now going to be *my* backup for the work i do for the Purchasing dept?! Cuz that would be awesome!!

But i'll be the bigger person...today. I can *not* be held responsible for anything i say after today. Cuz i have had it.

Hang in there.  Sounds like you''re handling it right--do just enough to not be accused of not doing your job, but not enough to get taken advantage of.

That sucks! Can you write an email to your supervisor letting them know that you are being harassed? Does she really have the right to treat you that way?

Oh, i daydream everyday about the things i want to say to her or what i can say to my boss! I have cc'd my boss on a few email replies i've sent to her but he hasn't said much. I'm actually having a chat with my boss's boss tomorrow about some other work stuff going on. I will *definitely* be bringing this up in the most diplomatic way i can.
