What a terrible month..
First the bathroom Pipe bursts under the tub and we had to re-do our 1 year old bathroom all over again. Now they tried (for the third time) to brake into our home yesterday at 11AM, in bright day light!!!!! Meanwhile our house is on a main street.
This is officially the breaking point that we need to move. Now I do not want to stay home alone or open the shades to get some sun in the house.
Luckily we have the house alarm, so they were not able to steal anything.
Is anyone selling a 3/2 home in the Hialeah/Miami Lakes area? or know of anyone? we have a Realtor, but she is a friend of my hb HB family and im dying to hire another one since she really is not finding anything for us. But my HB does not want to fire because he feels bad and does not want to ruin the family relationship.

Oh no, I know what apts you are talking about. They are so cute but its always so busy and those teenie boopers are everywhere pass 8PM.
We own a house near that new kids water park... on Douglas Ave, Nw 37th Ave right of the 836.

OMG I'm sooo sorry you're dealing with this. Did the police tell you anything about who could possibly be trying to break into your house? Punk kids maybe? Or even a neighbor. My parents house was broken into once and the police said it must have been someone that was watching & a drug addict b/c they only stole things that can be easily sold for drugs. We figured out that one of the neighbors son was a drug addicted and had been in & out of his parents house during the time the house was burglarized.
As for a realtor...don't know what to tell you. I haven't been on the market for quiet some time....we bought our house over 5 years ago. But I can only imagine that right now its a buyers market. You just have to LOOK & LOOK. I would do like Shirley said...look for a house and tell your realtor. The only thing that sucks about that is that they are getting paid commission for their work....therefore you should have to do much. If you really want to get ride of her....then tell her you just want to look on your own for a property. You'll let her know when you need her services once again.

I know how you feel about the robberies. Our Homeowner's Assoc Presideent sends almost daily emails about another breakin (mostly homes, sometimes cars) in the neighborhood... and we live in a great area! CRAZY. I'm too scared to be home alone. Even though most of the breakins occur during the day (while everyone is at work) even w/ house alarms.
We are thinking of installing security cameras around the house to help deter theives. I've read several articles stating that this does work.

Thank you ladies for your support. We think it was some punk kids around the block.
Since the water park opened across the street from our house the break in's have been rising and I went to go speak to the security gaurd in the park and he even said that they are breaking into the cars in the parking like every other day that they have had to hire double securtiy.
This is what we are doing with the house hunt. we check on Realtor.com and trulia and then tell her which house we like. it sucks that the commision will go to her when she really has not done crap except show up at the house with the lockbox code and thats it.
this weekend we are going to drive around to see if we find other neighborhoods that we like.

Late reply - but I wanted to say I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I can't imagine how stressful it is. I do have a realtor that we've been working with, since we know nothing about Miami we had to find someone who really knew the area. She works for EWM and I'd be happy to share her contact info with you if you're interested.
