Alterations near Vandy?

I need to get some clothes altered and am looking for someone in the general Vandy/West End area.  Does anyone have a recommendation?  Also, if you have an idea of their prices that would be great!  I have several items that I need to bring in, and I don't want to spend a fortune.  I saw a posting about this a long time ago but I don't think it's up anymore.

Thank you!

Re: Alterations near Vandy?

  • I take my stuff to Kim's alterations on White Bridge Road.  Its convenient enough for me, but was actually recommended to me by my veerrrryy particular FIL who drives in from Hendersonville to take his stuff there.  They have limited hours (for me), and are a bit difficult to understand :), but do great work.

I'm sorry I don't remember any prices, I usually have a couple things done at the same time.

  • I go to West End Alterations next to Muna Couture. It's next to 440 above the Dairy Queen. I have taken some very complicated gowns there and she has always done a wonderful job.

  • When I lived in Sylvan Park, I went to the same place as pp, the one above Dairy Queen on the corner of West End and Murphy Road. I was always happy with her work and don't recall it being very expensive.
  • Thanks, both of these places sound great!  By the way, Dawn05, I noticed that your son's name is Parker, that is my husband's name too.  It's a good one! :)
  • I took a bridesmaid dress to Kim's recently.  Dropped it off on a Thursday and it was ready Monday.  The dress was about 2 sizes too big so they had to hem the bottom (2 layers), take in the sides and take in the bust.  It was $94 with tax.  They only take cash.  I think they are open until 6pm.  I thought this was expensive, but I don't really know much about costs of alterations so it might be totally reasonable.  I was recommended to Kim's by a friend and thought their work was really good.
  • thanks for the tip about only taking cash!
