Freezer Meals

What are your favorite recipes?

TIA!

Re: Freezer Meals

  • Here's a blog that I like for freezer meals:

On the right hand side, under OAMC is a link called "Nestie Freezer Food Recipes" - I've tried several different recipes from there. DH's favorite are the wraps.

  • Ditto the above blog. I've used a few of her recipes (love the pizza crust, makes for a super easy dinner if you already have some sauce frozen/prepared) and I've used a lot of the sites she has listed.

Some of the recipes I found there are a Mexican chicken in the crockpot (4 meals), shredded BBQ in the crockpot (4 meals), parmesan chicken (2 meals). I also do a large batch of spaghetti sauce that I throw whatever I want into. I use it for spaghetti w/meat sauce, spaghetti w/meatballs, as a pizza sauce, in lasagna and/or ziti. I freeze meatballs and cooked ground meat.

  • I almost always overcook and freeze.  Soups and casseroles do especially well, maybe because of the high liquid content.  Lasagne does really well, too.

Anyway, what I really wanted to say is that like with soups or stews or casseroles, I freeze them in the BOWL that I would eat it out of.  Once it is frozen, I pop it out and put it into a baggie and back into the freezer.  Then when I want to eat it, it fits perfectly into my bowl and then into the micro.

No more trying to fit frozen square food into a round bowl

Thank you!  That is a great tip!
