XP: New England Camping Recs
Anyone have a good idea for a weekend camping site for a group of mixed
campers (i.e. some who don't mind roughing it, and some who would
rather have showers--ha ha although I sincerely don't care so more
toward the roughing it side if I have a say
--I'm planning right?) We
may have some kids with us, and are thinking a group of 8 or so adults,
maybe dogs if the campground will take them. I'd love some privacy and
a beautiful spot if anyone has recs! TIA.
Re: XP: New England Camping Recs
We visited some friends at Camp Overflow in Otis, Ma last summer, they have a camper there year round but they have tent sites that looked really nice. Clean bathrooms and they had showers but I did not go in. It is above the lake and there was a nice beach and boats to rent.
I'm usually on the knot but I figured I'd post over here :-)
?My FI and I camp at Odetah in Bozrah, CT (off of Rt. 2). It's not really a "roughing it" kind of campground, but it's great. They have sites for tents and campers, as well as cabins. There's a pond, a pool, a little general store, and lots of activities. I believe they allow dogs.
?They have a website, I think it's www.odetah.com?
my family has been enjoying Burlingame State Park in Charlestown, RI for many many many many years.

Our favorite part is the proximity to the RI beaches :-)
I don't post often...but i thought I would share.
We went camping at Bish Bash Falls. It is located in the corner of NY but on the border of CT and Mass. There are dog friendly sites which are wooded. There a bathrooms and showers and a little general store just outside the camping area. There is also a pond with swimming and a playground. About as clean as expected for the woods. There is an easy trail to get to the falls.
You can find it on reserve america.com. The name of the campground is Taconic (copake falls), in NY.
Burlingame!!! The best place I've ever been to. I have camped many times.
Kent CT is also a great area.
