I saw in the summer vacation post that you were "home" in DC. I'm originally from NOVA. Where is "home"?

  • I'm from Montgomery County! I miss it sooo much. I love New Orleans but everytime I go home to visit I miss it more and more.

    How long have you been in LA?

    We have been in Louisiana since August, my husband is a professor LSU. John, my husband, is from Severna Park. Such a small world.

  • That is so funny! I have been here since May '06 and I love it but it is so different. I also miss the spring/fall in DC (Especially Cherry Blossom time) and the metro... oh how I miss the metro!
  • ::Butting in::

    Until last August, I was living up in Rockville! I am glad to be back home with my family, but I did absolutely love DC. In the fall we used to drive out to West Virgina and go hiking and every spring we would do picnics with under the cherry blossoms (us and 5 million of our closest friends). If it hadn't been so expensive we probably would have stayed longer. We briefly started looking at condos/townhouse in Mo. Co, but decided there was no way we were paying 400K for a condo! That's when we thought it might be time to move. :-)

    Shoot prices in Baton Rouge for condos are getting pretty high. We're looking at a 2 bedroom for 250K.
    I miss the Cherry Blossom fesitval too. I also miss free museums.

  • :::also butting in:::

    Up until our move (at the end of this month), I'm living in Silver Spring!  I made sure to enjoy one last Cherry Blossom festival and my DH and I have been making the rounds to all of the attractions during our free time!

    It IS a small world....

    LTF, I dunno how we never talked about that connection. Where in Rockville where you? I grew up right around there.
