Favorite Restaraunts in the KC Area?
Hey girls! Figured this topic might spice up the board a bit and definitely make for some interesting conversation. Plus, I'm always looking for new places to try out when i'm in the area.
I don't have a favorite per se, but I really like Cinzettis in OP. It's this upscale-esque italian buffet and the food is delicious. I know, upscale buffet, strange, but it's good!
Re: Favorite Restaraunts in the KC Area?
Cinzettis is good but there is not way I could get my husband there. we enjoy smokehouse bbq, jackstack (on the plaza). I also enjoy Bravo (at Zona Rosa) We haven't lived her long so we are still in the process of trying places around our house. I want to Casconzes (sp) next it's supposed to be good italian.
Mmmm. Italian.
I haven't ventured down to the Plaza area yet. I'm only in KC once a month or maybe a bit less. I need to go but I figure it'll be pretty pricey.
There's also a Bravo in Town Center and a Brio on the Plaza. They are all the exact same and pretty darn good!
BBQ - Oklahoma Joes, Gates (I LOVE the one by the plaza but some other people are scared of it and say it's not very nice. It's as nice as any Gates plus it's SO cool how it looks like the old 18&Vine district)
Mexican - Jose Peppers, Mi Ranchito
Thai - Thai Place
Chinese - Red Dragon
Thats all I can think of right now...I sure miss KC food!
Yummm..... We went to Cascones for our anniversary last week and DH proclaimed it the best lasagna he's ever had!
Minsky's Pizza. So good!
My friend keeps telling me about Oklahoma Joes, we definately need to make a venture over there. For Mexican, we enjoy Rachano Grande (we go to the on in Parkville but I know there is one in Westport too). I have been wanting to try the Thai Place there is one just up 29 from us I'm glad to hear it's good. Also glad to hear Casconzes is good its only a couple blocks from our house.
Are there any good Japanese steakhouses where they cook infront of you? We had one in Topeka we love but need to find on in KC. Probably on the Missouri side if you know of one.
Mmmm.... I forgot about Thai Place. We went there for my birthday last month. It didn't look like much on the outside but it was delicious. The tofu was amazing! My little brother was so proud that he managed to eat a "Thai Hot" dish.
Stix at Legends is pretty good. You might want to check out their website (Legends) sometimes they have coupons.
Gojos close to Westport is very yummy.
Hibachi on the Plaza is good.
Izumi's in JoCo is my fav. I go there whenever I can!
Mmm, I'm getting hungry! I've been craving a burger from Westport Flea Market lately.
Lidia's and Garozzo's are my favorite for Italian!
I don't I'm sorry! But I bet you can find their menus online to see if they at least offer it!
Gah MrsW - you're killing me here! Now I'm totally craving some Mi Ranchito. Maybe I should just not come in these posts anymore!
As for Japanese - Kyoto in SouthOP is really good - and I'm sure they have some great vegetarian options. I know their sushi is really raved about.?
Damn you, rubyshoes19! ?I just went and visited the Kyoto site and now i'm practically starving. ?Vegetable tempura & veg yakisoba sound amazing.
?
Awww, lol.
Well, if we ever do a KC GTG, we already have plenty of good options listed here, it seems. Mmm.
I wasn't in town for the last one so hopefully I can join in on the next one.
Mrs. W's mention of chicken reminds me of Strouds! Yum yum!
A coworker was just talking today about Cinzettis. DH and I are going to have to try it out. Does anyone know the price, by chance?
Whoever mentioned the Flea Market for burgers...I TOTALLY agree. Blanc (sp) in Westport is also a great place for burgers.
I love Fortune Wok for chinese. We have a little hole in the wall Mexican place that we go to in Belton, MO called Mi Pueblito. Yum!!
That's all I can think of at the moment. This post is making me hungry!!
Cinzetti's website says its $8.99/person at lunch and $13.99/person at dinner weeknights, $14.99/person weekend nights. Definitely worth it, in my opinion. You will definitely be full. If you go, try and save room for their desserts - they are fantastic!
Good food + good drinks. Is there really anything better?
Reading this thread always makes me want to go splurge on an expensive dinner. *sigh*
Ditto, whoever said Garozzo's, and I heart Cinzetti's. Jazz is by far my fave, downtown location is the best, but the legends one is good, too.
For us it is:
Mexican: Fronteras or Mi Ranchito
Chinese:Bo-Lings or PeiWei's
BBQ:Oklahoma Joes
Burgers: 5 guys or Town topic!
we also love Moe's and chefburger in P&L is also good!
we are having our RD at Cinzettis lol
I love La Bodega (tapas on southwest blvd) and Yokahama Sushi (which is in Lawrence and may not be KC technically but still its delish)
Oklahoma Joes is great bbq and so is Haywards in OP
Mi Ranchito has amazing food and margaritas
BD's Mongolian bbq by oak park mall is fantastic as well
I have been in love w Thai Place since high school, absolute fav phad thai ever, no contest.
