How was your weekend? Was it filled with BBQ and fun? Family and friends?  Anything exciting happening this week?

Re: Happy Monday

  • We had a nice weekend.  We ended up not going to the lake since the weather was iffy.  Stayed at my inlaws on Friday night and went to a bbq.  It was fun although we did surprise some people that S went to highschool with as the last time they saw her she was dating the capt. of the football team.  I actually got a sunburn inbetween the thunder storms and felt kind of sick the rest of the night.  Sat we went to S's grandparent's house to go to the parade and another bbq.  They live in a real small nh town where half the town watches the parade and and the other half is in it.  It is real fun.  The floats throw candy what could be better!  I can't wait until ella/jack is old enough to decorate her/his bike to be in the parade.  Came home Sat night and chilled out yesterday after running some errands.  All in all a really nice weekend.

  • We had a good time camping and went to a picnic at a friend's house on the fourth.  a bunch of people from the picnic (along w/ those we were camping with) came back to the campsite for a big bonfire and fireworks - it was really fun :)  Yesterday we packed up camp and had dinner at my parent's house followed by watching my cousin's all star baseball game. We sat w/ his girlfriend and I nearly died when she was introduced as such....12 year olds have girlfriends?!?

  • We spent the weekend in Newport RI with my family, as we do each year around this time (we have a family timeshare).  We had a terrific time.  The weather was gorgeous, we had good food and and drinks, and lots of laughs.  My family is there for the rest of the week, and it was hard to say goodbye!

We did scope out some good parking options that we could take advantage of if we wanted to go to Newport again, maybe just for the day later in the summer. I love it there.

  • I did a whole lotta nothing this weekend :)  On the 4th I didn't even get dressed!  The weather was dismal and I didn't have any plans anyway.  It was sorta nice, sorta boring.  This week doens't hold any big plans...  just cleaning, organizing the office, and working a little.  Some sort of sucky news is that the baby shower we're planning for SIL is not going so well.  Nobody is coming!  6 ppl including 2 hostesses are coming.  and it's a 10 hr drive for SIL...  I hope they still have a fun time and its worth it considering the drive...  SIL's mom isn't even coming! WTH?
  • It was really nice. Fri we went to see my parents for the day, Saturday we slept in and went shopping (and spent a bundle on clothes, not house stuff!) and out to dinner...Sunday we slept in again :) went to a friend's BBQ, and packed up for our trip.
  • We had a busy/exhausting weekend - but it was fabulous!

Friday we went to a free pirate storytime in Baltimore that was aboard a pirate ship. And because the weather was PERFECT, we opted to take the pirate cruise afterward. We ate lunch on the water and the kids fell asleep in the car. We went to the mall to return all of the Gymboree clothes my parents had bought (too big and we have PLENTY of summer clothes.) Of course we had to ride the elevators/escalators/carousel. Home to grill out the best burgers ever (Sweet Onion burgers from Whole Foods.)

Saturday morning we were up early and went to a local  parade with friends. We had a blast - such nice weather. Got Pollo Campero for lunch (YUM) and had a picnic on the deck. The kids took a 3.5 hour nap (WHOO HOO!) and we even got a nap in too! Met up with our friends again and went to the lake in Columbia. We had reservations - but it was far too crowded. Opted to set up a blanket and get the kids ice cream for dinner and let them run around. We walked back to the car hoping we could see the fireworks and were able to see them perfectly and get out of the parking lot quickly. The kids didn't get to bed till 11.

Sunday Grayson was up at 6 and Carter was up at 7 (UGH.) Land I cleaned like crazy people and then took the kids to the playground. Put them down for an early nap and went to Costco afterward. Came home with 2 sets of pirate pajamas (that I am not sure they will ever get out of) and more pull-ups (sigh.) Ate Costco pizza for dinner and let the kids watch Night in the Museum

  • We had a nice weekend. We spent time with my mom, had S's mom over for the Fourth and just tried to relax.
  • Well Saturday evening we went to the birthday/4th party for our friend at the lake. We went for a great boat ride with him and his honey. We watched all the fireworks from all around the lake as we sat in the middle in the boat. It was really cool. Much neater than going to a city fireworks display IMO.

After everybody left, it was just the 4 of us so we ended up swimming in the lake until like 4am. It was like bathwater warm and so pleasant that well....we were skinny dipping. haha! I read all the other posts of what you all did for your holiday and Sandy and I have decided we are the naughty ones! haha! But it is so refreshing and freeing to be naked in the water. Nothing crazy went on. We just drank and talked and laughed and if we hadn't gotten so waterlogged, we might have stayed til daylight.

Sunday we had to catch up on sleep and then my mom cooked us homemade Jumbalaya (sp?) and homemade corn bread. MMMMMMM!!!

It was a great weekend. No drama and lots of fun.
