Anyone have any suggestions on a good place to go camping this weekend? A lake/river with a beach area is a must. I am in Calgary and would prefer it to be within 3 hours if possible. Oh and I will be tenting so I don't care about hook ups etc.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Re: Camping in Alberta
Jamie gave me this one a couple of years ago, it was one of her favorites. It rained the week we were going to go so we ran to BC instead, but it looks nice.

I would suggest Sylvan Lake! it is near Red Deer so about 2 hrs from Calgary. The campgrounds in Kananaskis are gorgeous but the lakes would be too cold for enjoyable swimming since they are from melting snow.
I stayed at Jarvis Bay campground, but I don't remember much about it because it was when I was little... Here is a site but not sure what the "official" site is:

Here is a list of some the provincial parks in Southern and Northern Alberta. We've used it several times to find a spot to tent as well! Good luck and I'm jealous of you this weekend for certain!

BTW: I recommend Chain Lakes and second the Sylvan Lake recommendation!
