midday traffic..
what's the deal? dh and i just moved here and have noticed an enormous amount of midday traffic...and not just during lunch hour...more like 1:30...whats the deal?

Depends on where to where...
Some people work early shifts due to working with East Coast companies so they get off earlier.
Depends on where you are... some areas are always congested, just poor planning it seems...
A few:
Highway 217 by Washington Square
Highway 26 near the tunnels into/out of downtown Portland
I-5 north, heading into Vancouver across the bridge

Yeah, you might want to get used to that. It took us awhile too. I always run into traffic on my commute. I got some 'learn to speak Spanish' CD's for my car and learn a new language while I'm waiting (well, 'learn' might be too strong a word, lol). Maybe that would help? I tend to get frustrated in traffic w/o a distraction.
