Hey guys to answer your questions, I did get a lot of what I needed at the shower, my favourite presents were the outfits my mom and sister and bought, that weren't even on the registry.

But to be honest we had already purchased all the big things - our stroller, furniture, glider, bedding, etc. etc. Most people just gave us money, but that's the typical Armenian way anyway. I still need to get a high chair, video monitor, and breast pump I think, and a couple of other little things.

There are some foodies in my family  - maybe not as obsessed as me - but they kept asking if I made my own shower cake. (Although I never could have made something like that, it was a really cute green fondant two-tier cake with blue polka dots and a sleeping baby on a leaf on top. )

As for work, I'm off work for 13 months - I had four weeks of vacation time I am using up, and then taking the the whole year off for mat leave. I also have the option of taking off 3 weeks unpaid at the end if I want. But we'll see if I do!

I wish I were on mat leave... I'm exhausted. Enjoy your time to prepare, and rest.

Yay!   Sounds like you are getting close to hvaing everything you need.  Don't worry about the high chair just yet, you won't need it for 5 months at least.

I was wondering how you had so much time off, nice use of the vacation time! Oh also the nursery is super cute (I can't remember if I responded to the nursery post yesterday, it's adorable though!)
