Recommendations on apartments/towhouses

Happy Tuesday to All!

My name is Lindsey and I was married on June 14, 2009. This is my first transition over to theknot.com, so hello! I thought I would seek your expert advice.

My husband moved in with me after the wedding and we are currently sharing my very cramped one bedroom apartment. Two people + two kitties = need more living space! That being said we have put in out 60 day notice and are looking for a 2 bd/2 ba apartment or townhouse to rent. We currently live in Addison but were hoping to move a little closer to his school (UTD) which is in Richardson.

To make a long story short, do you have any recommendations for a:

-2 bedroom / 2 bathroom apartment

-allows cats

-near Richardson, Garland, North Dallas area

-$1000 or less

We used to live in SevenOaks which is on the corner of Campbell and GB.  It was a good location for us at the time; DH went to UTD.  The apartments and grounds were nice however I wouldn't recommend living there.  I can get specific if you like but overall the management was horrible.  IF you want specifics, leave me your email and I'll tell you.  I don't have other recommendations for the area but I would have liked to know to stay away from there.  (Our next apartment was in Allen and is/was amazing but it's pretty far!)

I went to UTD and lived in Richardson for 4 years, and I always liked some of the apartments off of Renner, just west of 75.  I know they have been building some nice condos/apartments around Campbell and 75, but they might be really pricey.

We had a 2 bed/2 bath at Arboretum Estates in Richardson for 3 years.  We would still be there if we hadn't bought a house.  It was spacious, well-maintained, and we had nice neighbors which never hurts   They allow pets and there are a few different floor plans for 2 bed/2 bath.  It's located east of Abrams and south of Centennial on Buckingham.  GL!

Check out the Villas of Spring Creek. They are at the intersection of Coit and Spring Creek.

I used to live in Sevenoaks, too, and totally agree with the pp about the bad management there. ?The apartment floorplans are nice and they allow animals, tho.

I'd look around Renner and 75. ?I was seriously considering apartments around there when I was looking, too. ?They're also in your price range.?

We were looking at the Arboretum Estates, those are my favortie so far! I'm glad to hear good things about them.
