My sister took it upon herself to rescue a Basset Hound, I'm not sure from where, that was due to be put to sleep tomorrow and needs to find it a home. I don't have details on it at the moment, I just know that it needs a new permanent home. She already has a Boston Terrier and my brother still lives at home with his English Mastiff and my dad won't be happy to find a third dog at his house.
If you're interested, or know of someone who is interested, in giving this dog a second chance, please let me know. You can page me on D&R or email me at emo_flamingo AT hotmail.com. Thanks!?

Re: Basset Hound
I can't take another pet right now, but I'll keep my ears open and put the word out.
Good for your sister!
Thank you to your sister for rescuing him!
I wish we could take another dog right now - I'll keep my ears open.
There are basset only rescues if she gets in touch with them.
I talked to my brother and got more information. The small city my sister's boyfriend works for only holds dogs for 4 days when they're taken into the city pound. His name is Charlie (they named him, he had no collar and tags) and my brother thinks he's still pretty young but also thinks he was neglected because he's super skinny and scared of a lot of things. He's the cutest thing ever and he gets along with the other dogs, though seems to be jealous if they get any attention he doesn't get so he gets in between so he can get some loving.
My cousin, who has a Beagle, told us about a Beagle and Basset rescue, so if they can't find him a home themselves, we'll go see them.
ETA: My brother also said my dad saw the dog, didn't seem upset and told whomever he was on the phone with that "it's supposed to be temporary but we'll see how that goes.." Hah.?
