How long have you been a "nestie"? About two years, since I hopped on right after my anniversary which is coming up.
Were you on the knot before you were on the nest? Yes, I was a long distance planner (living in San Diego, wedding in Northern CA), so I found it super helpful for vendor info, etc.
How did you find out abou the knot/nest? Once I got engaged, I remember a girlfriend of mine telling me about it. She thought the knot was weird, so I checked it out, and actually thought it was helpful for my wedding planning.
What boards do you frequent the most (I'm guessing it's probalby not this one, but hopefully that's changing!) The Northern CA nest board (even though I no longer live in NorCal, the board is great). I poke around on Pets (girls can be a bit much sometimes, but I've learned alot being a pet owner), Gardening and Landscaping (my new hobby), What's Cooking... and that's pretty much it. Oh, and now Oregon!

I've been a Nestie since they created the board and booted me over here. I don't know when that was.
Were you on the knot before you were on the nest?
I started going on The Knot a long time ago because I used to plan fake weddings for my friends. My info says I joined in 1999.
How did you find out about the knot/nest?
I have no idea. I probably searched "wedding planning" on Yahoo.
What boards do you frequent the most (I'm guessing it's probalby not this one, but hopefully that's changing!)
I'm on The Bump the most. I'm on the multiples board, but we've mostly gone to a private board due to crazy people taking our photos. I pop in on Blended Families, but it's a lot of drama there.

Since I got married and was sent over here automatically! I had a different name back then...that was way back in '05

I was; but mostly just to use their planning tools. Wasn't a big fan of the boards there.

Every.time. i did a wedding google search, they came up, lol!

Were you on the knot before you were on the nest? Yes, I was planning our wedding last year (as erinmc2008). The local board was soooo helpful. The rest was scary!
How did you find out about the knot/nest? :: blank stare :: I have no idea... it was a looooong time ago. When I was seriously dating an exbf ~6 years ago, I remember getting on and looking at dresses on theknot.
What boards do you frequent the most? The Eco-Friendly Family board, the Oregon bump and nest board, and whatever pregnancy/baby board is appropriate (currently 0-6).

How did you find out about the knot/nest? honestly, i don't remember...i think i might have heard about it from a family member. i do know that i started looking around on the knot before i was actually engaged, though

How did you find out abou the knot/nest? Not sure really. I do remember watching a segment on the Today show featuring someone from theknot.
What boards do you frequent the most (I'm guessing it's probalby not this one, but hopefully that's changing!) OR baby, OR Newlyweds, 0-6, breastfeeding, sometimes D&R.

What boards do you frequent the most (I'm guessing it's probalby not this one, but hopefully that's changing!) Not many these days. I spent a lot of time on Election 08 last year, have dabbled in Pets, Gardening and Home Decorating. I'm really not on TheNest that much, just the occasional check-in.

You should get on there and get to know them. Of all the boards they are the most compassionate people I have chatted with. They do GREAT things...and see the bad that "mixed desiger breeds" are causing. I also have spent time working in Vet Hospital and as a volunteer at the OHS.
i agree with this, 100%....they are seriously some of the most compassionate people i've met. when i first started nesting i didn't know anything about BYBs, good food quality, etc...and I've learned SO MUCH from that board. I was clueless when i started and they were so nice to me, being very educational, respectful, etc. there are so many other boards on the nest that the girls on them are just down right rude and disrespectful..it's like they think because they are shielded by their computer they can say whatever the hell they want without thinking about the feelings they may be hurting. to me, the pets girls are very educational to anyone that will listen...if someone is rude to them or gets pissed because the pets girls didn't say what they wanted to hear, then yeah they may get defensive...but in my experience i really feel like their heart is in the right place and if most people took some time to really listen to what they had to say and got to know them, they would realize they aren't just preaching. i'm really not trying to cause drama here..just trying to state how i feel and that i really think you ought to give them a chance!
