moving to TN..

DH is up for a promotion that would require us to move to TN. Around Pigeon Forge... Anyone from that area i have been looking online for places to rent and am coming up empty handed. any help would be awesome.TIA!

Re: moving to TN..

  • I no longer live there, but I used to live in Knoxville for 5 years and living right around Pigeon Forge might be a bit tough renting (you may end up renting a home vs an apt, ask about a realtor). You could easily live in Seiverville, Maryville, Alcoa (Knoxville is a little far, unless you live real close to the interstate); it is just going to depend on where your DH is going to be working. I would defintely visit first to see the area, and remember school at UT is out for the summer, so traffic in Knoxville is much lighter.

  • I live in Knoxville.  Pigeon Forge is not far from Knoxville, but the traffic is really bad in Pigeon Forge (tourist area).  Our local newspaper has a website and maybe that would help in your housing needs.  Go to www.knoxnews.com.  You may want to check out the Seymour area, it is outside Knoxville, but still closer to  Pigeon Forge.  If you have any more questions please feel free to contact me.  Also, welcome to TN!
