Has anyone taken an art class around HR area?

I've been looking for a creative outlet and I've noticed that there are a lot of art/photography classes in the area.  Has anyone taken one?  Would you recommend it?  I figure this also might be a good way to meet people since my DH and I are relatively new to the area. :)

  • I see that you're in Norfolk, so this may not help, but a couple friends took classes at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center and really liked them.  I'm not sure what they took, I think it was a pottery class, but they have a website with more information.

Oh wow, thanks!  We're right by one of the tunnels, so I'm not opposed to venturing up to the Peninsula.

  • Great!  That area has been redone in the last few years and is gorgeous now.  The arts center is also right by the Mariner's Museum and the Noland Trail, which is a 5 mile trail throughout a park.  Oh and they also have concerts at the Museum during the summer as well.
