Has anyone one been to Colorado?

so we are planning our anniversary trip for March 2010 and we really want to go somewhere where we can ski and rent a cabin or a ski lodge.

Any suggestions to where to go? What is the difference between aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, ect? And hotels?

Any other locations/States will be great appreciated!!

I used to go every year with my family...it's awesome!!!

Since you are going in March you should be able to get something at a reasonable price because it is low season in Colorado. ?In March you will probably see people sking in bikini tops, because it is not as cold. ?It is better ski during this time because you are not freezing to death but the snow is not as powdery.

I have never been to Aspen, but I have been to Vail and Breckenridge.?

Vail is a little bit more upscale than Breckenridge and the elevation is higher, but they have night skiing. ?Beaver Creek is another place you might want to look into it, it is right next to Vail and is easier to ski there for a first timer (if you are one). ?At the foot the mountain at Beaver Creek is a place called the Christy Lodge and it is a reasonable price for the night but it is a little inconvenient because you have to take a shuttle in the morning to the ski lifts. ?There is also a lounge at Beaver Creek where they play live music at night and people like to hang out there. Vail is a beautiful town and a great place to visit.

Breckenridge is a bigger town tourist wise and is about 20-30 minutes away from Vail both places are great places to go ski and visit. ?At Breckenridge you could probably get a reasonably priced ski in and ski out because it is not as upscale as Vail. ?I personally like to ski at Breckenridge better, but I like the town of Vail better than Breckenridge. Go Figure!

Where to stay really depends on your budget ...hotel, cabin, ski in ski out, lodge...

When I go with my family we rent a cabin a split the cost amongst families, but we are usually a group of 20. ?So I really don't know much about hotels etc.

I'm going in two weeks. I have family in Telluride and supposedly it's amazing.  I'll let you know more when I get back.  Nicksgirl should be back soon and she goes every year.
