Credit Unions

Does anyone have a recommendation for a credit union in the area? Preferably SW Portland? We are hoping to join one but have no clue as to where to start looking....we had one in michigan and loved it...after having it I will NEVER go to a bank (had a terrible experience with Bank Of America after the death of my MIL)

I belong to First Tech Credit Union, however I don't know if just anyone can join this one(I got an account through my hubby). But the are fantastic!

Two others I have heard good things about are OnPoint and Unitis

We're with OnPoint. They have been here for a long time (used to be called Portland Teachers Credit Union) but anyone can join. Unitis is fairly new but I've heard good things about them as well. I think any of them is fine.

I have accounts with Unitus and Oregon Community Credit Union. I have no complaints about either. Both have been good to me.

OnPoint all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Been with them for 6 years and NO COMPLAINTS! They have our checking, savings, money market, car loan, and home equity loan, with the best rates around and great customer service.  There's branches everywhere too.

I'm with Oregon Community CU and have been back when it was U Lane O (only for U of O students/faculty and alum). They've been awesome, but they just closed a ton of local branches and that made me sad

Thanks for asking this question! We currently belong to a CU here in San Diego and LOVE IT so much more than Wells Fargo or a bank....good to keep as a reference for the future move!

Hi there! I hope I am not late! We started using Advantis Credit Union after we got our Auto Loan in November of last year. I abosolutely LOVE them. We have the Fusion checking account and love it. Super nice, friendly people. They have a few locations between Lloyd Center, Belmont and 17th? and downtown by the Trade Center. HTH
