Katy Trail

So, what is everyone's experiences with the Katy Trail?

1. How often do you ride on the trail?

2. What's the furthest you've ever riden?

3. Have you ever camped out along the trail?

4. Has anyone ever gone out towards the wineries and such?

I have been in Saint Charles now for 3 years and I've never actually gone out on the trail. This afternoon I went out for a few hours and rode 12 miles! Whoa! Didn't think I could do it, but I did! I'm so proud of myself! It seems alot more further than it really is, I haven't been out on a bike in several years now, and keeping with my slow pace I didn't get winded once!! hehe...  What I liked about riding was the peacefulness, the mainly flat riding surface, and the park benches along the way to take breaks. Anyway, just looking to get everyone else's view points on the Katy Trail :)

Have a great day!

Re: Katy Trail

  • 1. How often do you ride on the trail? not often, we used to ride it every weekend.

    2. What's the furthest you've ever riden? St. Charles to Defiance (39.2 miles) and Defiance to Marthasville (37.2 miles)

    3. Have you ever camped out along the trail? no

    4. Has anyone ever gone out towards the wineries and such? yes to Defiance during Octoberfest, but we didn't want to drink and ride. Wink

Katy is my favorite trail because of the flat surface and shade (for the most part), I just want to keep riding and not stop. What I love about it is that it is so long that you can choose a different start point each time. I also read in the St. Charles Mag. that they are expanding it again.
