9 months later I am finally gonna update my passport.
For the married ladies who changed their names : I was wondering if I can process the name change application in person - like postoffice or a passport agency? I only found mail-in information on the website. It says that I need to mail it with certified copy of my marriage certificate? How do i get certified copy? Do i need to get it from the clerk's office?
Thanks in advance!!!!
Re: Passport name change
Yes, you can obtain a copy at the clerk?s office. It?s about $15. I mailed in my information to the passport agency. It took about a month to get my new passport. You can expedite the process if you wish. They will also mail you back the copy of the marriage certificate.
Hope this helps
I know that the post office won't process them in person. I tried and they made me mail it in. As for your marriage certificate, you should have received a copy in the mail. You mail in the certified copy you received and then they send it back after they have processed everything. I'm not sure how you would get an additional copy if you didn't want to send in your only one since I was married in NC. Hopefully some of the other ladies on here can answer that
HTH!
Thank you both! Much appreciated!
Adaza, Can i just walk up to the clerk's office and request copies or do I need to request that ahead of time for pick up?!
Thanks again ladies!
