If I remember correctly, you are on bed rest (or have been). If I am wrong, I apologize!
I have a question about being on bed rest...are you able to collect disability? If so, about how much of your normal pay are you getting?
Also- are you able to move around and such or do you literally have to be in bed? I assume this would depend on why you are on bed rest but I'm just curious.

I am not S&A, but my HR told me that if I end up on bed rest, I would get disability (ends up being 60% of my paycheck) for the duration of the pregnancy as well as 6 weeks (vaginal) or 8 weeks (c/s) after the baby is born.

ETA: If I had healthcare through them I would have some benefits. I didn't enroll in any benefits though them because they're so crappy. I am insured through my husband's employer.
:-) I am off work, but I am not on bedrest (yet as my doc puts it) If the dr says you have to be off, yes you will get disability. It is 60% of you normal pay...BUT it is untaxed. So i recieved my full 2 week check on disability today and surprisingly enough, i am only taking home $50 less then I would if i was at work. So i can't complain, i am finally getting paid to STAY AT HOME! :-)
technically you are allowed 4 weks before your due date (one week of that unpaid) and then postpartum is 6-8 weeks depending on vag or c-section and then the state of ca actually will pay you for 6 weeks of family bonding time, so you get 12-14 weeks after delivery. And techinically (if you and your husband do not work at the same place) your husband will also qualify for 6 weeks paid bonding time too :-) If you have any other questions let me know....or most ca. disability stuff is pretty easy to research online too :-)
But don't stress...the check i got today made me very happy and now i can be stressfree! :-) hehehe
But if you are put on bed rest at, say, 10 weeks (extreme, I know) you'd get disability from 10-40 weeks, and then 6-8 weeks afterward, right?
The 4 weeks beforehand is if it's a "normal" pregnancy, correct?

Correct. If for any reason you go off work before the 4 weeks before the due date...then its disability (pregnancy related disability, but disability)

Yes i beleive that is what is called...some of the other girls who have already had the babies would know more about this. But I beleive they mail you something and you fill it out??? i am not 100% on this part....
Yes, it's Paid Family Leave and it's done through the same disability office that your "disability" pay comes from. As soon as your "regular" disability (traditionally 4 weeks before and 6 weeks after birth) ends, they automatically forward you the paperwork for the PFL coverage. You don't have to take it and it can be used to care for a sick family member (i.e. parent) or even to bond with an adopted child. I had Sarah early so I didn't get he 4 weeks before her birth off/paid but I did have some complications from the birth so I got an extra 2 weeks disability approved by my OBGYN, then I took another 6 weeks PFL. You get paid based on how much you make and there is a cap. It's been awhile so I'm sorry if I don't have the exact numbers...
I'm late in answering but for me..
I was taken off working at three months and never went back to work.
If you have vacation pay you have to use that up first but I didn't have any (used it all for the wedding and honeymoon) so I started collecting state disability after 7 days.
Like Shannon my pay was only reduced about $75 a check so we didn't miss it. Also my overtime was calculated in my total pay.
I was on state disability (different from maternity leave) until the day I delivered then it switched to maternity leave. I got 6 weeks because it was a vaginal delivery. With your last check you will get the form to request FMLA.
All I did was fill it out and the state sent me the check for the 7 weeks. My check for PFL was the same amount as my check for disability and maternity leave.
