Has anyone been to or know about the Press Room in Lancaster?

I have a rehearsal dinner there at the end of the month... I heard that it is fancy.  What would be appropriate to wear to there?  Some friends and I are torn and I have never been there, never really heard of it.  Feed back is appreciated!!

  • It is a nice place... I wouldn't say FANCY, but I would look nice going there. Either a dress (but not formal or anything, like Sunday wear if you go to a more formal church) or nice dress pants a nice top and nice heels would do. I've been there a few times, and I've been to a rehearsal dinner there.

  • For a rehearsal dinner, I'd go a bit dressier than I normally do, but I've definitely been there in jeans. I was slightly underdressed, but partially because it can be a bit of an older crowd there and they're usually dressed up a bit more. You could dress up and look entirely appropriate, but if you go a bit casual it won't be a huge deal. How's that for a vague answer?? ;)
  • A lot of professionals go there since it's right downtown. So there are a bunch pf people from banks and the courthouse, etc gather there. When I've been there, most people are in  business casual at the very least. Even in the evening, most people are dressed up a bit. I think it's more the location than the actual venue that is why people dress the way they do for it. I just remember a glass of wine being $8 and that was about 10 years ago.

  • It's very nice and I would dress nicely. A nice dress or skirt and blouse or slacks with a nice top.

I do get frustrated when people insist on wearing jeans everywhere. I am certainly not part of the older crowd and I enjoy dressing up for a nice dinner out.  It makes it more special.
