Brooklyn Neighborhood Recs Please

DH and I are looking to move to the city within the next year and are starting to look for housing. ?We'd like to live in Brooklyn but need some recs for good neighborhoods. ?We have a young daughter so we are looking for kid-friendly areas. ?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Brooklyn Neighborhood Recs Please

  • Hey! glad to see some one from Rochester moving to the city! DH grew up in rochester.

We moved from manhattan to brooklyn last june - our neighborhood is Park Slope. We absolutely love it - and have found it to be such a great place to live. It is perfect for young families and kids - tons of playgrounds, the park close by, restaurants, kid-stuff shops, great schools, activities for kids/family....the list goes on and on. It has actually inspired us to start thinking about starting a family!

Other great neighborhoods - cobble hill, prospect heights - and I know others here would recommend sunset park, kensington, windsor terrace, fort greene.

Good luck on your search and upcoming move!

  • ditto. I would add Forte Greene to the list as well.  If you don't mind living a bit further out, you could also check out Bay Ridge.
