?? Making an offer on a house ??

We have stepped up our house hunt, and we found one that we are thinking about making an offer for. I know that you can ask for anything in an offer because they can refuse. The sellers have built a new house and have moved out of the house, but left some furniture to stage the house. There is a den connected to the kitchen, and they have they coolest sofa and oversized chair in there. Do you think it would be weird to ask for that in the offer? I know we can, but I feel weird about it....

Thanks!
Mel

Re: ?? Making an offer on a house ??

  • Just ask- you never know. If the furniture doesn't really go with their new house- they might let it go rather than moving it with them. Could be stuff they bought just to stage it too.
  • Also wanted to say that you might just have your realtor ask their realtor (or ask their realtor directly) to ask the seller if they would consider putting that furniture in with the sale- then you'd know before you write up the offer.
  • When we bought our condo we asked for a large piece in the greatroom.  It was written in the purchase agreement at the bottom. It was not in the loan documents / final purchase agreement though.  Worst they can say is no!
  • Go for it! In our house situation we gave them a bed/matress and window coverings... doesn't hurt to ask.
