We are moving and my MIL is driving down with me and our dog to keep me company and take over the wheel if I should get tired. DH is already down there. I would like to treat my MIL to dinner for taking the time to come with me.
I was thinking Magnolia's, then thought of SNOB. Which is more casual, but really good? We'll be in shorts because I am taking her around downtown and sightseeing on Monday, then DH is meeting us downtown for dinner after work.
I would like to take her somewhere she can experience southern cuisine.
TIA!
Re: Rest. rec in Chas?
I wouldn't wear shorts to either of those restaurants, but maybe that's just me. If you're going to be sightseeing downtown on Monday, take her to lunch at Jestine's. It's casual, but good southern home cooking.
With as many good restaurants as there are downtown I'm blanking on a "casual, but really good" one, there are more of those in Mt. P.
I was in Charleston about 3 weeks ago. I second Poogan's Porch or 82 Queen. I went to both restuarants and they were excellent. For 82 Queen we just arrived and I was wearing capris and Dh had on shorts. We were a little more dressy at Poogan's Porch. I did not go to the places you mentioned though.
