Book suggestions, please

I'm traveling this weekend and want a good book to devour. I would love to read My Sister's Keeper but it's not available at the library branch I want to check it out at. Do you have any good book recommendations?

Re: Book suggestions, please

  • I've heard that the time travelers wife is a great book to read. I've been meaning to read it myself.
  • Have you read the Twilight series?  Pretty interesting... and light reading.

I love the Shopaholic series.  Sophia Kinsella (author) has a few books which are also very good.  She actually has another coming out later this month.  Gotta finish my current read to start that one!

  • sorry, no suggestions here, I've done nothing but read medical and nutrition journals the last 2 yrs! I'd also love some recommendations.
  • I finished the Time Traveler's Wife a few months ago and loved it.  I am currently reading City of Joy and it's pretty good thus far. Other favorites include: The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, Middlesex, Oryx and Crake, and anything by Patricia Cornwell (female forensic scientist) or Sue Grafton (female private investigator).

On my "to read list" that have been recommended to me by friends are: The Notebook, Revolutionary Road, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The Red Tent, Water for Elephants, and Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet.

    Hope these help.

  • Go, Claire, go. I knew you'd be able to help me out. ;)
  • So happy to help. I love to read and get at least 30 minutes of fiction reading in every night.  I have a few books at my house and can bring some over for you to borrow if you are interested.
  • I am definitely for the Twilight saga
