hair salon rec..

i feel like i'm being a PW on this board..i'm sorry! it's hard because i'm used to a more active board, so this is kinda weird for me...come out of lurking everyone and post! oregon is a big state and portland is a huge city..where is everyone? probably out enjoying the fun out-doorsy things there are to do around here, i assum Wink

anyway...i want to get my hair trimmed and highlighted and i need some salon suggestions.

i'd prefer something that uses more natural products like aveda, but would also prefer something a little on the less expensive side..i'd also prefer something in or near SW if possible but would be willing to drive to something that comes highly recommended..

any suggestions?

thanks!!

Re: hair salon rec..

  • I absolutely LOVE my stylist, she's in Sellwood at Novare Salon on 17th Ave. Dannielle. She charges $90 ish for cut and color, depends on your hair. It's a Bumble and bumble salon.

I used to go to Jody DiBartolo at Shear Pleasure Salon, near Raleigh Hills, off Farmington Road.  So she's in the area of town you are looking for.  She is great and I went to her for 4 years, but then we moved and it's too far for me to keep going to her.

I've found that good hair is kinda pricey in Portland.  But I'm also a firl believer in that you get what you pay for Smile

Good luck!!  Feel free to ask any other questions!!

  • Patti Green of green. Salon is AWESOME. A sustainable salon (not just a catchy name) and good, safe products. Plus, you can drink beer or wine while you get your hair done. She does a great job and she's just an all-around great person. Definitely not really on the cheap side but I agree with Jen in that good hair is pricier in PDX.

  • New Beginnings Salon Spa is an Aveda Salon between Beaverton and Hillsboro near the Streets of Tanasbourne.  I love Aveda, my favorite stylists have always been Aveda stylists, so when I moved up here it was one of the first things I looked for.  I've been there for a haircut and a color and highlight, and am looking forward to going back for my next haircut.  They have a website it's www.nbsalonspa.com
