St. Louis Anniversary weekend - suggestions?

Hi! DH and I are going to be in St. Louis for our anniversary weekend (next weekend). We're staying downtown and going to the Cardinals game on Saturday night.  I was wondering if anyone had great suggestions for restaurants in the downtown area / laclede's landing - we like pretty much everything but seafood.

  • Spaghetti Factory

    Morgan Street Brewery

I'd say Drunken Fish, but you said no seafood.. haha.

    Have Fun!

  • If you're looking for a nice anniversary dinner, try Mike Shannon's (right across from the ballpark).  There are a ton of great places on Washington Avenue.  I recommend Mosaic (tapas) or Lucas Park Grille for "nicer" dining.  Kitchen K is great for casual dining, as are Flannery's and the Dubliner.

There's also Charlie Gitto's downtown (yummy Italian).  There are a bunch of restaurants at Lumiere Place (the casino attached to the Four Seasons hotel) that get rave reviews.

    Happy eating!

  • I agree with piealamode.  Go to dinner on Washington Ave, there are some great independent restaurants.  She already mentioned some good ones.
  • Thanks! We'll probably just stay on Washington Ave. and see what we find!
  • I live on Washington Ave. so we frequent a lot of the restaurants and bars.  Cielo is a restaurant in the 4 Seasons that is fantastic.  You can sit outside and overlook the downtown skyline/arch, nice for a romantic dinner. It's just across the highway so a little detached from Washington Ave, but you can still walk it. Mosaic has small plates and all the food is delicious.  They also just opened a lounge next door so you can have a nice dinner and then walk over for drinks. Lucas Park Grille has pretty good food and it's a great late night bar.

I would stay away from the Landing (Drunken Fish, Spaghetti Factory, etc.) because it is usually full of under-agers and tourists. Everything is a little high priced for the quality you get.  If you're looking for something a little more casual let me know and I will give more recommendations.

Also, a good daytime activity is City Museum.  It's around 15th/Washington and offers hours of fun exploring.  And they recently opened the City Garden which is near the stadium (Market/10th?) which would be fun to check out before the game.
