Re: Recommend your OB/GYN

  • We aren't there yet, but as soon as I find one I'll let you know. Smile We move in one week and it doesn't seem that there are many people on this board form the area.
  • Bridget Williamson at East Cooper Women's Center (or maybe Clinic?) owned by MUSC. LOVE HER.

She is a professor at MUSC, she is young (maybe in early thirties), and she is really good at taking the time to listen to anything and everything you want to talk to her about. She is reasonable but does not take any concern too lightly.

I have been going to her for 3 years. I am sure that I want her to deliver my kids.  (whenever we get around to that).

  • I highly recommend Lowcountry Ob/Gyn as a medical group.  http://www.lcobgyn.com/

When I was pregnant, I had one primary ob, but they have you have at least one appointment with every doctor in the practice so that you have experience with whomever is on call when you deliver.  I genuinely liked them all.  Unfortunately, my former ob from this practice whom I LOVED moved out of state, but that meant that I did get to know lots of their other doctors.  Dr. Maggie Evans and Dr. Molly Joseph are both great.  I'm not sure if Dr. Osbourne is taking new patients, but he was wonderful when I had some problems post-partem.

This group has offices in both Mount Pleasant and West Ashley and they deliver in East Cooper Regional Medical Center.  In fact, their Mt. P. office is adjacent to the hospital.  It was a great hospital to deliver in and has a great lactation consultant on staff if you decide to breastfeed (Linda Chilton).

    Hope that helps!

  • I second Low Country OBGYN. I go to Dr. Lara Wilson and love her. Also, East Cooper Regional Med. Ctr was great for the labor and delivery. I guess they do a lot of inductions and almost no unmedicated births, but were very good to work with when I wanted to go with as little intervention as possible (though I did end up with lots of pitocin -- no other drugs, though). All of the nurses were very good -- one was a bit strange, but no complaints.
  • I've also liked Lowcountry OB/GYN.  I think I had the same doc as pp that moved out of state, which was so sad because I LOVED her, but since then I've seen Maggie Evans and really liked her, although felt I didn't get the same level of attention I had before (but maybe it was just because it was a busy Friday afternoon)
  • Hi gals....I'm a newbie to the nesting world. Just got married last week.   I also recommend Lowcountry OB/GYN.   I see Dr. Kate White and she is awesome.  We are not pregnant yet but I will only see her when we are.  If this is any hint to you.....Before we got married we were talking about healthplans and which one we should go with, his or mine....I told him that I would only go on his plan if Dr. White was an approved provider.  I didn't mind changing any other dr's but her.

  • I also go to Lowcountry OB/GYN, and my Dr. is Kate White.  She's awesome and really took to time to get to know me when I moved here and had my first Appt.  I also had to see Dr. Osbourne once and he's great too.  We are currently dealing with IF issues after 1 year of trying, and they are great about getting back to me quickly on any questions I have or when I need to know what my next step is.  I would highly recomment Dr. White or at least a Dr. at Lowcountry OB/GYN.
