Hi there! I posted this on the tribe but I know you can't access it from work so hopefully you'll see this.
We're getting ready to book our trip to Acadia next month. Is 5 nights too long? The last night will be 4th of July. Should we stay in town or is it easy to get from the campground to downtown? Thanks!!! We can't wait!
Re: MrsForger
Heyyy Diana. I paged you on the tribe this morning before I came to work to answer your Qs. Did you get it?
That's so exciting! I'm jealous! We're going in September, but I think July and August are the most fun months to go. Have a great time!
Oh and something I didn't mention on the tribe post - when we go in Sept., we're staying for 7 nights, and I've been there at least 20 times already, lol. So 5 nights is definitely not too much! You'll enjoy every second.
Also, for sight-seeing and touristy things, you should go to the top of Cadillac Mountain to watch the sunset once or twice if you get some nice nights. For Park things, visit Otter Cliffs, Thunder Hole, and Sand Beach if you can. We went to Sand Beach to star-gaze once, and it was AMAZING! I've never seen so many stars in my life. Lots of shooting stars, too. Bass Harbor Lighthouse is really pretty, too, but far from Bar Harbor and Blackwoods. We went whale-wacthing once, too, and saw a lot of whales.
Not sure if your beer fans, but there are a couple breweries on the island, too. Atlantic Brewing Company is the best, IMO. They have good tours, a shop, and a little lunch shack. The others I know of are the Maine Coast Brewing Co., which is in Jack Russell's Steakhouse & Brewery...and I can't think of the third!
See, I could just go on and on about this place! lol. Sorry if I'm boring you...but please ask if you have more questions.
