Oldest Mother Dies

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1199866/Worlds-oldest-mother-dies-cancer-just-years-giving-birth-twin-boys.html

Did you hear about this?  She was 66 when she had them.  To me, that is selfish.  Even though you cannot predict an illness like cancer and it can happen at any age, realistically how long would she have been able to actively care for the kids.  Could you imagine being 17 and having an 83 year old mom?  That just doesn't seem fair.  The poor kids.

Re: Oldest Mother Dies

  • So now those 3 yr olds have no mother. How awful! I am so torn on this issue.. I totally believe in a 'to each his/her own' approach, but there is a lack of responsibility here!
  • I just think it is sad that they didn't have a father in their life to begin with and now they are left without a mother.  Then will essentially be raised by a brand new family structure now.
  • I read that too. I think it was kind of selfish on her part. I feel bad for the kids, but at least they will have each other.

  • I was just talking to someone about this...I think it's VERY selfish..Yes I'm assuming she didn't think she was gonna die at 69 but did she really think she'd be able to take care of teens in in 80's!!  I wanna know what stupid Dr thought this was a good idea
  • i think this is very sad - i cannot imagine losing my mom at that young an age....but i do  believe that as we keep extending our life span this will become more common.
