Public transportation from LAX to LGB
What is the best (fast, safe, etc.) way to get from LAX to the Best Western near the conference center in Long Beach? And about how long would it take?

Hi there! I don't frequently use the Metro (MTA) light rail, but I know that there are lines that will take you from LAX to Long Beach. Also there are street buses also thru the Metro MTA.

Will you be traveling alone, with kids, during business hours, late at night (ie for a concert)?
Light Rail System - The Metro has shuttle buses that circle LAX and take passengers to a light rail station on the "Green Line". The "Green" will take you to the "Blue Line" and the end of that line is Long Beach.
FYI - the Blue line runs thru "interesting" part of Los Angeles. I myself would be cautious, but that would not stop me from traveling the line, especially since you're just passing thru.

I would check the time of day before counting on the light rail.
It goes through some tough neigborhoods, including Long Beach. Personally, I would not use it late at night.
For what it's worth...I use public transit in other cities...so it's not that I am afraid of big cities or public transit.
