Music/Gym classes for LO's?

I've been thinking of enrolling DD in a gymnastics-type class or a music class, but not sure which ones are good.  I see the Little Gym has classes for tiny tikes. I've also heard about kindermusic type classes, but haven't researched them. Have you taken your child to any classes like these?  If so, did your child enjoy them?  How old were they when they took the class?  Any recs?

Re: Music/Gym classes for LO's?

  • Hi Amanda :) Since I don't live in Madison anymore I can't help you out too much. But I do know that Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has a Musikgarten class. The teacher (Beth) is great. I used to work at the preschool and we had music with her once a week.

I would love to enroll Cora in a class, but there isn't anything available in our small town. Would have to go to Appleton or Green Bay.

  • We take/took DD to Little Gym in Fitchburg. She loved it! We're taking a break for the summer because weekends are just too busy for us but we'll likely be signing up again for the fall. It is kind of expensive but it kept DD from being bored for at least 45 minutes plus the drive there and back.

We're planning on signing Ben up for the fall, too - he got to test out a class (as a guest of Isabelle, actually) & he liked it.  Now that he's more mobile, we think he'll *love* it.

  • I think we'll do the Little Gym in the winter when the weather outside is not so nice. Right now, my son's favorite thing to do is play outside, so it doesn't make as much since for us right now.

As far as music, we've been doing the Music Together classes at Happy Bambino since my son was 8 months old (he's two now - in his 4th class). He loves it. The teacher (Eliza) is great.
