Anniversary dinner suggestions

Hubby and I are trying to figure out someplace to go for our first anniversary (that is coming up in about 3 weeks) in Greenville.

We first thought of going to the melting pot, but we are also open to suggestions.

Any ideas?

Re: Anniversary dinner suggestions

  • This depends on where you got married, but you could go to a restaurant that either catered for you guys, or is in the same food genre. Our first anniversary is coming up in 2 days, and we had Sonny's BBQ cater our wedding, so we're having our anniversary dinner at that restaurant. Sorry if this doesn't help. :-
  • We did think about possibly eating at the Hyatt where we had our reception, but we really don't want to do that, we want to do something different.

Right now we're trying to decide between The Melting Pot and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.  We're also open to any other suggestions.  We very rarely go out for a nice dinner so we want to do something special that we don't do all the time.

  • Okay, either one sounds yummy! I would go with the melting pot, but thats just me. Enjoy either way! :-)
  • Stellas! :)  It was gooood.

Dh and I enjoyed Stellas so much that we decided to pretend like our dinner there was our second anniversary (even though it was 4 months later haha.)  Our second anniversary was a miserable bust, and we had a really nice, romantic meal at Stellas.

If you go on a Monday or Tuesday, bottles of wine are half price.

  • We went to High Cotton on our anniversary- so good!  I also recommend Soby's and Sassafras.  I've never been to the Melting Pot, but I have no desire to go- why pay that much to cook your own food? :)  And I couldn't pay that much for a chain, when Greenville has so many good local restaurants.

  • I really like The Open Hearth..a little hole in the wall steakhouse off of Wade Hampton. I also LOVE Chophouse 47, and I have heard great things about Rick Erwin's.

My best friend went to Ruth Chris a few months back and said it was delicious.

    Good luck!
