so, my brother and his FI are going to have a joint bachelor/ette bash in vegas. the hub and i are both in the wedding party and were excited about having a fun trip in october.
the hub got an e-mail this morning that said something along the lines of "hey guys, here's the date for the bash! mark your calendars!"
it's the same weekend as my high school reunion. the one we've been planning since last summer. i'm not missing it - i'm on the damn committee!
fuck_man, i'm super bummed.

Re: FML.
If the bash is in Vegas, it won't just be one day, right?
Go to your reunion and the remainder of the bach weekend.
The Monkey has all the answers.
the reunion is a 3-night extravaganza, as is the bachelor/ette weekend.
Three nights?! How much reuniting is necessary?
we had a lot of folks comment after the last reunion that it would have been nice to have some alumni-only time as well as a chance to mix and mingle with the kids. hence:
friday - alumni-only mixer
saturday - reunion
sunday - family picnic
Well, you know which one I'd skip.
But you'd see them at the other two events, no?
Even if I'd planned this, I'd probably go to Vegas. Heh.
Wow - that blows!
I would just go on Friday to the reunion mixer and skip the rest of it to be able to go to Vegas.
Sorry Wan.
i don't know about all reunions, but i've seen everything from a simple beach day to a weekend-long bash. i think a lot of classes learn from the first reunion and plan accordingly based on that experience.
like i said, in our case, that meant more than one evening's worth of reuniting.
This situation really sucks.
I agree.

sorry, wan. i always seem to have weekends with multiple things going on or weekends with nothing going on--nothing in between. i feel ya.
on the other hand, i have a high school reunion this october that involves activities spread across a few weekends. i most likely will not go to any.
