Poll: Purpose of marriage
So, I have heard a couple of celebrities in the past few days say that they will, of course, be having children after they get married because the purpose of marriage is to have children. Hmmm...
Got me thinking.
So, what do you think the purpose of marriage is?

I heard that too, and it struck me the wrong way because...
1. Some couples choose not to have children.
2. Some couples cannot have children.
Marriage, to me, is the public proclamation that you want to spend your life with another person. It may include children, it may not.
Just out of curiosity, which celebrity said that?
Anyway, I agree with mm- marriage is a public promise/covenant that you are committed to spending your life with and being faithful to this person, regardless of whether children are involved.
