local wine?

we're buying a wedding shower gift for my friend back in MI and we bought her her set of wine glasses and thought we'd get a couple bottles of some portland wine as well...where can we get good, local wine?

There are a TON of super awesome wineries around here. Especially in the Dundee area. DH really likes Erath-they have a decent Oregon pinot noir and not too pricey either. Theres a winery near the coast called Namaste that i'm pretty much in love with. They do a great job with whites; and they always have some creative blend going on. I highly recommend you guys take the scenic drive up to Erath though. On DH and I's first drive up there, we saw a bald eagle...it was pretty amazing considering we were both in the city our whole lives and had never seen one in the wild before

thanks scarlett....unfortunately the glases are cabernet/merlot glasses so we were hoping to find a good red wine...i'm soooo dumb when it comes to wine, i know nothing about it!

Pinot noirs are reds. I always serve them in a globe, so I think you're good with one of those.

thanks i love wine but usually only drink white wine because i like it sweeter =]

Also check out Willakenzie, I love their wine. And in town there's Hip chicks do wine. They don't grow their own grapes but they make wine from grapes harvested in Oregon.

Daisy, I feel you about the whites. I definitely like white better. Give me a nice Gewurztraminer and I'm in heaven. DH is all about red though...i can appreciate it, but i never crave it.

I second Erath! O'reilys is good as well.... Pinot's are my fav!

FYI, Cork is an awesome wine shop. They are helpful, knowledgeable, and stock wines with a variety of prices and origins.

BTW, I love Left Coast, which isn't really "Portland" but Oregon. They are out on Hwy 99W. I think they only sell out of their tasting room, but that could have changed.
