I cannot believe our one year anniversary is coming up Tuesday, but here we are! We are going to celebrate Friday (30th) b/c we got a free night at the Hilton downtown b/c we had our wedding there and wanted it on a weekend vs. tuesday. I think we are going to have dinner at the Melting Pot since we never do anything like that, but then I need some ideas!
Well likely spend Friday evening/night and Sat morning/afternoon around that area. I don't want really go to any icky bars or clubs (not really us and I can't be around the smoke) so what other suggestions do you have for a "local" who doesn't spend much time there. Maybe something outdoorsy?
Re: One Yr Anniversary/Things in Nashville?
You could do a cute little carriage ride.
We like going to Mulligans and listening to live Irish music but it may be smoking still ...
You could go to East Nashville and go for brunch at Marche, so good.
You could go on the Nash Trash tour.
Check out the Frist or Country Music Hall of Fame if you have not been yet.
Take a walk and feed the ducks at Centennial Park, tour the inside of the Parthenon while you are there.
I agree with the suggestions so far. If it's a nice day, then I'd head to Centennial Park and have a picnic.
I also agree with the brunch idea. Marche and Margot Cafe both have great brunches. Germantown Cafe is also supposed to have a great brunch, but I haven't been there.
Bound'ry has a nice outdoor bar area (upstairs). I don't know about the smoking situation (since it's technically outside), but it's a pretty relaxed atmosphere. Definitely not icky!
Sambuca in the Gulch also has live music nightly.
FYI, I was just at many of the honky tonks on Broadway for a bachelorette party and you can't smoke in there anymore (at least Tootsie's, the Stage and one other one we went in). Not sure if you were avoiding them specifically because of the smoke but thought I would mention that those are at least smoke free and I think they all are now.
I second Germantown Cafe for brunch, really good and a nice view. You could also walk around Bicentenntial Park and the Farmers Market before/after brunch. Sometimes the Farmers Market will have something going on and have live music or something fun like that on the weekends.
