We made a reasonable bid to the guy, and then he came back full price with only half of the closing costs we asked for. We decided not to take his offer, and instead we went back out and looked at some more houses. We went back and looked at one house we'd looked at in the beginning, and in my mind I remember it having a small kitchen, but when we went back I didn't find it to be too small. There were plenty of cabinets and enough room for two or three people to work at once.
So we're walking around this house thinking maybe this is the one and the REA from the last house we made an offer on said the seller has changed his mind and would take our first offer.
DH and I didn't know what to do at this point because we were becoming partial to the house we were walking through. So our REA left us alone to talk it out, and we looked at the pros and cons of each house. In the end, we decided we were going to make an offer on the house we were currently walking through. We'll lose a den, but the living room in this house is a great room anyway, so I think there will be plenty of room for us for awhile, and there is room in the yard to build on if we want to at a later date. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and closets are bigger in this house. Now I'm hoping this guy takes our offer, we pretty much offered him full price + some closing costs. I think we have a good chance. I really hope this works out and we can move in by the end of August.
I feel a lot less stressed now! I hope you are all having a good weekend. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
