How was your weekend? Enjoy any good weather?
Re: Weekend Report
"Good weather" and "Albany" will never ever be used in the same sentence again. Sure it's hot but it's also humid. This is crap and it makes me miss home.
Other than the crappy weather the weekend was alright. We had a lot of small stuff to do and not much down time. I am however looking foward to next weekend when K's sister arrives.
We did enjoy some good weather! On Saturday it was warm and dry - perfect painting weather! We painted out office/guest room, and it came out great! I'll have pics once the room is fully put back together. We had a great time, though I am still a little sore from moving all the furniture out of the room and then back in at the end...
We had a nice dinner out in honor of my birthday on Saturday, though I did get EATEN ALIVE by a bug that was apparently under our table! My legs are so itchy!!!!
On Sunday, we finished the painting, had lunch with my family and saw Rent with my sister. A great weekend - and C got me a big ice cream cake - coconut and chocolate, yum!

It was pretty good. Just hung out and did house stuff. My parents came to visit Sat and that was nice and we didn't even put them to work on the house! hah.
I did realize, again though, that we need friends here
I just got to work after having to take Carter to the doctor again for his ear infection. It didn't go away, so he is on round 2 of antibiotics.Ugh.
Friday - L was still feeling bad from the pneumonia. I took the kids to the playground, did all of the regular nighttime stuff, started cleaning the house, and fell into bed/crashed.
Saturday - L stayed home while I got the kids up and out the door to the DMV so we could get there when they opened. Miraculously, we were out in 25 minutes!!! Took the kids to the mechanic (thank goodness for video iPods and Little Einsteins since it took longer than I had planned!) and then went to Costco with a friend and her son. Post nap L and I took the kids to the pool - that wiped L out even though she just sat and watched Carter in the baby pool while I swam in the big pool with Gray.
Sunday - L was feeling better so we went to Panera for breakfast and then to the grocery store. That wiped her out, so I took the kids to the playground. That afternoon/evening I had to go to a university in DC to talk to some college students for work. I ended up taking the kids with me so L wouldn't have to do the whole witching hour/nightime routine. They were awesome till the ride home and they became whiny messes. Carter had a hard time going to sleep last night and was up several times during the night - which tipped me off to his ear infection.
I can't believe it is almost August.
Ditto the hot and humid. ugh. i HATE this weather. Despite that, though, we did have a really great weekend.
Friday evening we went out to dinner with our good friends who just got back from amazing vacations (one went to europe with her students for a month and the other went to ireland for a week). It was great to see them again and hear about thier travels. They are planning on starting IUIs in August so there was also plenty of TTC talk.
Saturday I went into the office for a bit while andrea got a TON of yard work done. then we went to a friend's picnic where I was put on baby duty. It was cute and always fun playing with thier son. Of course seeing us playing wiht the baby spurred a bunch of people to ask about when we were going to have kids, the status of our fostering, ect ect which was much less fun. Saturday evening we all headed over to an Irish Festival which consisted of much drinking and chatting.
Sunday we had a lazy morning and worked on a few house projects. In the afternoon we met up with Andrea's coworker and her fiance for ice cream then capped off the evenign wiht Confessions of a Shopaholic (cheesy and not recommended btw).

This was the first weekend that felt like summer in DC to me: sticky and uncomfortably hot.
We spent most of Saturday on a marathon house hunt. Sat night we went to see Humpday, which was fun. We were the only women in the whole theater. Sunday, more house hunting and then a long luxurious afternoon of chilling and reading.
Ugh, it was so humid and gross for the most part. Saturday wasn't too bad because we were at my parents with lots of tree shade and great breezes, but Sunday was just disgusting. We finally put our A/C in our bedroom window (we've had one downstairs for the pup, but haven't needed one for night yet).
Other then the weather, the weekend was good. We told my brother and parents about the pregnancy, and they are thrilled! I got lots of sleep and felt pretty damn good the whole time. This morning was also much better then any work mornings I've had in a while, not great, but better.
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD

I took a 4 day weekend and we headed up into the mountains for a camping trip! The kids were with their dad doing this Kids Hike thing his work puts on every year so it was just the adults. We went with another couple and had a really fun time. I'm with you all on the heat though it was sooo incredibly hot. Unfortunatel we couldn't get a camp spot next to the water so the days were pretty uncomfortable. We were about 15 mile from a hot springs pool though so we went there a couple time and cleaned up and cooled off. We spent alot of time playing cards, cooking amazing camp food, and drinking and chatting. On our way home yesterday when we finally got service we both had messages from our neighbor who has a son the same age as our kids. He hangs out at our house alot and we feed him 3 or 4 nights a week since shes a radio DJ and works some pretty odd hours. Well to thank us for all we do she surprised us with tickets to the sold out Journey and Heart concert. So we got home got cleaned up didn't even unpack or anything and headed out for a nice dinner and an EPIC CONCERT! Heart was AMAZING, and was really what I was looking forward too! It was a really awesome weekend!
This heat sucks! We have not put the ac in yet and don't have the energy to carry it up stairs from the basement so we are all very hot! The good thing is the hospital is really nice and cool. So if you need to cool down come visit Ella!
Our weekend was pretty boring (but boring is good!) My parents took us out to dinner Thursday, Family friends took us out on Friday and S's parents took us out on Sat. Thank god I am pumping so much or I would weigh a million pounds. I am weighed myself and I am 2lbs below my pre pregnancy weight and am in real clothes (S's shorts but still real shorts with buttons and zippers!) I had a few pounds extra when we started so hopefully I can drop those too! There has to be a silver lining in this right????
Off to see Ella!
oooo, can I?! I'd love to!
enjoy your visit w/ your sweet girl

we had a good weekend camping, even though it rained really hard for most of saturday. we didn't go on the river trip, which we were bummed about, but the fact that we weren't cold and wet and gloomy made up for it. we spent some time just the two of us running around and got in some fishing and a flea market/antique mall to dry out.
yesterday (which is technically not the weekend, but we were both off so i'm counting it) my dad came over and we finished all the moulding in the bathroom. she also went and met with our lawyer (who is actually just her lawyer in this case) to get things started for the co-parenting agreement we'll be filing with the courts here. so relaxation and productivity!
