Ok guys,
I want to be extra cheesy and 'think cold'. Maybe that will help us all escape this brutal heat if only for a few min in our minds.
Mine:
When I was little, my Dad and I would bundle up and walk through the Christmas Villiages in Germany around the Holidays. Mostly, there was snow, and the German people take Christmas and the holiday season very very seriously. The whole village would be lit up with lights, all the store widows would have magical things in them, and it was just perfect. It was very good to be a little girl Then, when we would come home to the US to visit family, we would either see Swan Lake or The Nutcracker. Pretty awesome.
Next: This last year when we had all the snow, the dog, DH and I bundled up and went over the the highschool near us one night to play and make snow abgels. My dog absolutely loves the snow, and he cracked us up with his antics. Hes a GSD, so built fof the weather. He loves to bury himself in a bluff, and then we pretend not to see him so he can leap out and surprise us .
Whats yours?
Re: Favorite Winter Memory?
This is mine:
Super cheesy, but we TTC for a long time, and I was absolutely THRILLED to be pregnant. December was the time when I really started looking big pregnant. This year the snow was CRAZY and at first we had 4 inches and I was like "OMG let's do a belly pic outside! Look at the snow!" I figured we had better snap a picture soon before it all melted.
Then about 3 days later..."Wow I am sooooo over this snow, hurry up and melt"
And you were such a CUTE mommy too! I love that you got some snowflakes in the shot.
I hope hope hope to be ku this Christmas
My favorite winter memories are going to cut down on Christmas tree as a family when I was younger. I LOVED doing that, and look forward to living somewhere where my children can do that! (as there really isn't any in SoCal)
Scarlett-where did you live in Germany?
Learning to start all over again... Blog
Ditto. We'd wander around, all campaigning for a different tree. lol. We'd get donuts and apple cider after, too The best year was the first year my brother was in college and I could finally convince my parents to get a scrawny "Charlie Brown" tree, which my bro hates. When he arrived home, he saw the tree immediately and before even "hello" he yelled "why did you get that tree!?"
Also, when we were young, my brother and I would put ice cubes on the wood stove and watch it sizzle and skip. That memory doesn't make me feel cooler, though!
