Friday Poll: First Dance Song

What song did you and SO dance your first dance to?
Are you happy with that choice?
In retrospect, can you think of a song that would have been better?
What is your shoe size?

Re: Friday Poll: First Dance Song

  • We danced to Amazed by Loanstar...and entered to So White and Nerdy. It could not have been better.

My shoe size is a 10....

  • Your Song by Elton John. Happy with our choice.

    Shoe size. 8.5

  • we didn't do the typical dances & stuff like that.  it was a sunday brunch.  we called it a soiree.  :)

    however,  if i may share. . .

our people walked down to "forever young" by the pretenders (originally by bob dylan).

when my daddy & i walked down the isle, my cousin played acoustic guitar & sang "i loved her first" by heartland.  it had a jack johnson or john mayer feel.

and lastly, b & i left as husband & wife to 'i wanna grow old w/ you" by adam sandler.  yes ladies the one from the wedding singer!

    wouldn't change them @ all!

    i wear a size 5 1/2 to 6

  • Our first dance was You've Got a Way by Shania Twain...we liked the song and had changed from Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton.  Now that things are done, there are lots of ideas...it was the pressure of the time that makes even the simplest decisions (like waht music) a challenge.  I wouldn't change anything about the choices we made.

My shoe size is 9.5 or 10 depending on the shoe and style.

  • Our first dance song was  Beyond the Sea, a remake by Royal Crown Revue.  Loved it, I just wish we new how to swing dance, but we faked it and had a blast.  We tried lessons but thats a different story.  At the end of the ceremony we walked out to Lovers of Loving Love a ska/punk song from the Aquabats, it was awsome and super cheesy but that's who we are.

Shoe size 7 1/8 -8 depends on the shoe.

  • We danced to More by frank sinatra... we took a couple of lessons but just kind of winged it when it came time. I wouldn't change it for the world, I love that song, it makes me cry each time I hear it now.?

    ?

    Shoe size 9 1/2 -10

  • I Know How To Love You Well by Tim McGraw

I am mostly happy.  It was the song I used to play the shiit out of when we first met, so it always reminds me of that time.  :)  Although, I sometimes wish we would have just danced to Faithfully by Journey.

    8.5

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • Our first dance song was It Had to be You - Harry Conick Jr.

It was great - we had a fox-trot choreographed to it and did that as our first dance which was super fun :) Plus, that song was playing when DH proposed so it was a natural...

  • Interesting question Smile We danced to "You" by Ryan Duarte, I originally "voted for" Difference by Genwine, but we compromised with the first one...  In retrospect, I'm VERY happy we chose that, and any time we hear it on the radio or on the Ipod we sing along together, and I love that Smile

The one that I wish I could change was the "Father-Daughter" song...  I really wanted to dance to "Daughters" by John Mayer, which I find more meaningful and with more "sentimental value" to me, I guess... But I was going to dance with my FIL and didn't want him to think I was upset at him or anything... and also we decided to do the Father-Daughter and Mother-Son dance at the same time so that my MIL didn't have to dance too long (long story, but it was due to health issues) so we settled on "Unforgettable"...  but almost every time I hear Daughters I wish I would've got to dance it at our wedding (my DH would say it's because I like to cry LOL).

Shoe size 10 (and I'm short!!!).

  • Our song was "I Could Not Ask For More" by Edwin McCain.  I am definately happy with our choice.  When I listen to it today, it takes me right back to the dance floor and to how I felt at that moment.

My shoe size is 8 1/2 shoes, 7 1/2 Sandals ( I have very narrow feet and fall out of them if they are my actual size).

  • adore by prince, happy with it

shoe size 7, speaking of shoes...half yearly sale at nordstroms go there now.

  • Not Friday anymore, but it's slow!!!!

We danced to "Across the Universe" by the Beatles.

Yes!  DH picked it last minute (I had "Forever" by the Beach Boys picked out but he didn't like it), and it was a great pick!

Nope, it was perfect!  Perfect length and easy to dance to.  We even started singing to each other.

    6.5... in some shoes I'm a size 6.
