Knoxville/Maryville - Place to Live

Hi all! I'm new here and hoping to find some information on the Knoxville/Maryville area. Hubby and I are moving to the McGhee/Tyson reserve base in October and could really use some suggestions on areas to live.

We do have a house here in SC that we're going to loose on big time, so we'll definitely be renting. Hopeully something under $900 a month. We are in our late 20s and like fun, but do not want a rowdy apartment complex.

Any suggestions on where (or where not!) to live are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Knoxville/Maryville - Place to Live

  • Hi, there!

Well, we live in one of the neighborhoods off Ebenezer Road in Knoxville. It's very close to Pellissippi Pkwy, and you can take that and make the base in about 15-20 minutes.

Are you wanting an apt., condo or house?

  • Preferably condo or house, but the $900 budget is very firm for us.

  • If you can find something close to Pellissippi Parkway, that would be great it's also called (I-140) I believe. You won't see signs for "Pellissippi Parkway" It has an exit for Alcoa Highway, which is where the base is at.

    This might help you look:

  • Housing costs are VERY reasonable around here. You should be able to find something great for that price! Good luck!
