Hi all! We are stopping overnight in Memphis on our way down to Gulf Shores, AL and the family wants to eat at a really GOOD BBQ place. Any recommendations?
We will be staying near downtown Memphis.
Re: BBQ in Memphis?
Rendezous is good. I love their dry ribs. You can't go wrong with any of these restuarants for BBQ ..
Rendezvous - located in alley behind 52 South Second Street - My fave here are the dry ribs & sausage and cheese plate
Cozy Corner - 745 N. Parkway, Memphis TN 38105 (My best friend loves this place. I've never been but, it gets rave reviews)
The BBQ Shop -1782 Madison Avenue, Memphis, TN 38104 - My fave is the BBQ smoked sausage sandwich. It's a blink and you'll miss it spot. But it's a favorite of mine.
Neely's - 670 Jefferson, Memphis , Tennessee 38103 - I love Neely's. It's hands down one of my favorites. Love the BBQ Spaghetti. It's a got a kick, so if you don't do spicy food, don't get it.
Whatever you do, please don't go to Corkys. I don't care what anyone tells you, don't do it. It's overrated.
All of the places I've posted are near downtown Memphis. Jim and Nick's is out east - about a 25-30 minute drive from downtown near the Wolfchase Mall.
Rendezvous!!
I also like Neely's, but I've only been to the one here in Nashville. Memphis is the original location, though. :-)
